Before bringing your medical marijuana home, it’s essential to know the laws for the Medical Marijuana Program.
Allotment and Possession Limits
Patients and designated caregivers are limited in how much medical marijuana they can purchase in a rolling 30-day period, as outlined below.
- Up to 2.5 ounces* dried leaves and flower
- Up to 6000 mg THC total of other products
- Possession Limit – 3oz flower at one time
- Minors cannot have dried leaves and flowers or have any product with >6% THC
On August 1st, 2023 patient purchase limits for concentrates, solutions, topicals, capsules, and transdermal patches increased from 4,000 mg of THC total to 6,000 mg. The 30-day time period for limits remains the same.
*Patients with the debilitating medical condition of cancer may be authorized by their healthcare provider to purchase up to 6 oz. of dried leaves and flowers. Patients can check their allotment limit meter by logging into the registration system at https://www.health.nd.gov/mm
